This project comprises building 8 semi detached houses: six 2 storey 2 bedroom properties and two 3 storey 3 bedroom properties. These houses are being built to Sustainable Homes Code Level 3 and we are aiming to achieve a score of at least 62%. As part of the requirements for Sustainable Homes Code Level 3 we will be working to Robust Design Detail EWT-3, Secure By Design and we will also be incorporating Lifetime Homes standards into each house.
This site has been registered with the Considerate Constructors scheme and we have incorporated their recommended best practices into the management of this project. Our site will be monitored against the eight point code of
Considerate Practice and we are aiming to achieve a score of 3 or higher in each category.
As part of this project we will be looking to engage with the local schools to promote a positive image of the construction industry and build up a good relationship with the local community.
This project will be completed by December 2009.
This ongoing project consists of the renovation and refurbishment to the property converting self contained flats into local area offices for The Carr Gomm Society. We are carrying out extensive external work including disabled access and creating a children’s soft play area.
This project involved alterations and refurbishment work to the office and we built an extension to the Community Centre. We also provided a new car park and alterations to the children’s soft play area.
On this project we carried out renovations and alterations to convert the property into self contained flats, each containing a kitchen, bathroom and living area. We also created a sleepover room and office for staff. We had to also carry out underpinning work on the foundations due to the age of the property and we converted the basement into the office which included tanking.
This project involved carrying out alterations and a loft conversion to office space. We carried out re-roofing work in line with the specific requirements needed as this was a conservation area. We also refurbished and re-glazed the Victorian Gazebo and re-modelled and re-roofed the existing conservatory and reception area.
This project involved creating disabled access and refurbishment of the Visitors Centre and toilets plus the construction of a new toilet.

This contgract ran on time and to cost. Pre-contract analysis and a pre-contract meeting we carried out to ensure our team identified any design issues with the architect and made any amendments necessary to the drawing prior to project commencement, therefore improving the project value and delivery. Effective pre-contract meetings with sub-contractors ensured the integrated delivery of the project. Utilising our effective supply chain management and building on the long term relationships we have with our sub-contractors, helped us to increase value and minimize risk on this contract.
All managers, sub-contractors and suppliers on this contract are from the local area and have a successful history of working with PLP Contruction.

We have worked with Oldham MBC for over twenty years and have built an excellent working relationship with our client.
The project consisted of replacing windows, doors, new roofs, pointing and new boundary walls on council owned properties in Oldham. The biggest contribution to the smooth running of this contract was the early identification of the disruption this refurbishment would cause to residents and neighbours. Addressing this at the pre-contract meeting and implementing a plan of tenant liaison to address these issues resulted in the full cooperation of the residents, which meant this contract progressed efficiently and on schedule.
All managers, sub-contractors and suppliers used on this project are from the local area and we have received some excellent feedback from householders.
"The management and site staff are a real credit to you, nothis is too much trouble for them. I'm entirely pleased, thank you! Mr and Mrs K. Booth

This project of a two storey entrance extension, a single storey laundry extension, a conservatory, internal remodeling and refurbishment to existing flats, warden's house, common room, kitchen and laundry, together with a external works and drainage.
This project was particularly problematic as it involved working in occupied premises, providing improved facilities for people with learning difficulties and the elderly. The old-style bedsits were changed to 2 bedroom flats with improved communal facilities, all designed to "Extra Care" standards. Working in the occupied premises proved difficult but we were able to programme the works around the tenants, liasing with them to ensure minimum discomfort and ensuring that goods and materials were stored safely and moved with the least amount of noise and dust. Our supervisors worked closely with our sub-contractors to keep disrumption to a minimum whilst the work was carried out.
Through regular site meetings with all relevant parties we were able to ensure client satisfaction, efficient budgetary control, and timely completion of works.
