Environmental Procedures
PLP Construction Limited is aware of the importance of environmental issues both within the construction sector and the wider community as a whole. We are committed to comply with all relevant environmental legislation and to aim to continually improve environmental performance through appropriate initiatives, controls, provision of resources and training of employees. Here are some of the procedures we follow to minimise the impact of what we do on the environment:
- All our Management Team have recently attended Waste Management Training with Envirowise and this will be rolled out to all site operatives within the next few months. This training helped us to identify ways we can reduce the impact of what we do onsite on the environment. It also updated us on current legislation and what it means to us as a company.
- We ensure that materials are delivered to site at regular intervals throughout the lifespan of a contract rather than in one large load at the beginning of a contract to ensure we keep material wastage to a minimum
- We have made an agreement with our suppliers that they will take back and store any excess re-usable materials to be used on another contract
- We have an agreement with our suppliers that they will take back pallets to their depots
- We recycle all metals on site where applicable
- We dispose of all waste in a responsible manner by using waste transfer stations that segregate materials and on larger contracts where access is available we segregate materials in separate containers
- We always use reputable licensed Waste Management companies and receive Waste Transfer Notes
- Any Hazardous Waste from site is always disposed of in line with legal requirements using licensed companies
