The South East Lancashire Construction Association was formed to facilitate training and development for its member companies and to offer advice and support for its membership.
Selca aims to carry out training locally, where possible, and to present the courses at a low cost by subsidising the price with the funding it receives from the CITB and income from subscriptions. It also provides funding towards courses that have been arranged directly by companies.

Fensa stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. It has been set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and other industry bodies with Government encouragement in response to the current Building Regulations for England and Wales .
When having windows and doors replaced homeowners must comply with the current thermal performance standards and ensure that they get a certificate of compliance from FENSA or local authority Building Control. FENSA enables companies that install replacement windows and doors to self certify compliance under these Building Regulations.
PLP Construction Ltd is accredited within the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme, having demonstrated compliance with, and sound management of, current basic health and safety legislation. The aim of the CHAS Scheme is to avoid repeated applications from contractors and consultants in safety pre-qualification.
The National Federation of Builders (NFB) is the construction industry's longest established trade association which has grown in stature since its origins in the late 19th century. This has been achieved by providing top level advice to our members on legal, employment, taxation, health and safety, planning, environmental, technical, training and government funding issues. The NFB also represents the interests of its members and the industry generally by lobbying both UK and European Governments, regional assemblies and related non-governmental agencies.
